I’ve had several questions from folks at other institutions who have asked how long the entire website redesign process took. Great news! As part of our launch party, I had gathered these stats and presented them to the UG Library staff, and I shall share them now with you all!

  • 20 hours dedicated to NAV alone

  • 51 work days of edits based on user feedback (from beta period to launch)

Google Favours Mobile-Friendly sites

On April 21st, 2015, Google announced that mobile-friendly websites (for example, responsive sites) will receive some boosting in search results.

I’m pleased to announce that the work CCS Web Solutions did to make the UG Drupal template responsive passes these new mobile-friendly Google requirements with flying colours!

On behalf of the Web Redesign Committee, we’d like to thank all who provided feedback on the Beta version of the new Library website. Below you’ll see a summary of the 191 results we received via the survey.

The survey also received 93 comments which have already influenced the new Library website.

We look forward to launching this new, more user friendly, Library website on April 22nd, 2014.

Website Comments Due Tuesday April 1st 2014

We’ve received more than 189 responses to the Beta Library website survey to date, and 93 respondents have provided in-depth comments. We’ve also received 68 responses to our interactive navigation test.


If you haven’t had a chance to fill out the survey, or complete the interactive navigation test, please do so before April 1st, 2014. If you chose to provide your name and email address after completing the survey, you’ll be entered into a draw to win a 50 dollar Hospitality Services gift card.

As our April 22nd 2014 launch date approaches, we’ll be taking the helpful feedback you’ve been providing to refine the new Library website.

Beta Library Website Launch

We’ve been working on overhauling the Library website for over a year now, and you’ve helped us all along the way!

If you missed all of the opportunities to provide us with guidance so far, don’t worry…we still need your help!

Please visit the Beta Library Site, poke around, and then take a moment to answer this quick (five question) survey, letting us know how you feel about the redesigned website. At the end of the short survey, you’ll have the opportunity to provide your contact information to be entered into a draw to win a 50 dollar hospitality gift card! The draw will take place April 1st 2014.

We’ll be busily sifting through the comments and feedback you provide, and we’ll be making tweaks here and there in response to your suggestions. Once this final polishing has been completed, we’ll be flipping the switch and the new LIbrary website will replace  our existing website at the beginning of May 2014.
